These Terms apply whenever you access or use Eco. Our Code of Conduct and Privacy Policy also apply.
By using Eco or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Eco.
Prototype
Eco is a prototype in ongoing development. Its features and availability may change.
About Eco
Eco helps people discover and take part in action for climate and nature. It is a privately operated and curated platform.
Eco is for people aged 18 and over. You must be at least 18 to access or use the platform or create an account.
Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
Your account is personal to you. You are responsible for keeping access to your email and Sign In links secure.
You must not impersonate another person or organisation.
Organisations and actions
You must have permission to represent any organisation you add or manage.
Verifying a work email confirms control of that address. It does not mean that Eco has approved or endorsed the organisation.
You are responsible for ensuring that your organisation details, actions and other submissions are accurate, lawful and safe.
Submitting content does not guarantee that it will be published, promoted or remain available. We may ask for information to verify an account, organisation or submission.
Approved content may remain public while changes are reviewed. Past actions may remain available as archived listings.
Your content
You retain ownership of the content you submit.
You give Eco a non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free licence to store, copy, edit, format, publish, display, distribute and promote that content as part of operating Eco.
You confirm that you have permission to use all names, text, images, logos, trademarks and other material you submit.
How Eco is managed
Eco has final editorial and operational control of the platform.
We decide who may use Eco, what is published and how content is reviewed, categorised, presented and promoted.
To keep Eco legal, useful and trustworthy, we may review, verify, edit, limit, refuse, archive or remove content. We may also restrict or close accounts and take other steps to protect Eco, its users or its purpose.
We may act immediately when a situation requires it. These decisions rest with Eco, subject to applicable law.
Using Eco
You must follow our Code of Conduct. You must not interfere with Eco's operation or security, gain unauthorised access, collect data through automated means without permission, commercially exploit a substantial part of Eco or use its branding in a misleading way.
You may link to and share public Eco pages.
Information and external links
Information on Eco is provided for general information and is not professional advice.
Some content is supplied by organisations and other users. It may change or become outdated. Being listed does not mean that Eco organises, endorses or guarantees an action, organisation or claim.
You should check important details with the relevant organiser before taking part.
Eco may link to external websites and services. We do not control their content, availability, security or privacy practices. Their own terms and policies apply.
Availability
We work to keep Eco useful and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
We may change, suspend or withdraw content, accounts, features or any part of Eco as the platform develops.
Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or anything else that cannot legally be excluded.
Eco is not responsible for the conduct of independent users, organisations or action organisers, or for external websites and services we do not control.
We are not responsible for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control. If you use Eco for business or organisational purposes, we are not responsible for loss of profit, revenue, business or opportunity.
These Terms do not affect your statutory rights.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how Eco handles personal information.
Changes
We may update these Terms as Eco develops. The current version will be published here.
Law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, although consumers may retain the right to bring a claim where they live.
